Measure the packed product
Begin with the dimensions and total weight of the items going into the bag, including boxes, tissue and other components. State the proposed bag width, gusset and height clearly. A bag that looks large enough in a flat photo may not accommodate the finished gift set comfortably.
Review paper, handles and reinforcement
Discuss the paper appearance and weight alongside the handle type and attachment. Twisted paper, ribbon and other handle options create different presentations and handling requirements. The base and handle areas should be reviewed against the intended load; paper weight alone is not a load rating.
Coordinate printing with folds and gussets
Show logo placement on the front, back and sides, and identify important colors or decorative finishes. Artwork needs to account for folds, seams and handle holes. If matching a box or pouch, assess physical samples together rather than relying on separate screen previews.
Check handling and storage needs
Inspect a sample with the real packed contents and discuss any load or transport testing needed. Confirm how bags are packed and stored before delivery. If recyclability or certified sourcing is a project requirement, define the exact material and evidence needed rather than assuming every paper bag has the same environmental profile.
